Our hair is viewed by many humans as our crowning glory, quite literally. We lose, on average, 50-100 strands each day which are replaced by new hair follicles. However, age, genetics or illness can cause this new hair growth to slow and balding patterns can occur. The ISHRS has developed and managed "Operation Restore" which approves and finances pro bono hair restoration for those patients in need who have suffered hair loss because of disease or trauma. This program matches prospective hair loss patients with volunteer ISHRS physicians to obtain hair restoration services to help restore the physical and emotional wellness of the individual. The foundation will provide financial, travel, lodging, and medical assistance to eligible patients in need.

Although hair loss cannot be avoided, you can improve the health of your hair and scalp to delay further loss.
